The Risk of Artificial Food Coloring (On The Spot)

Lifestyle No Comments »

This video explores the health risks associated with petroleum based artificial food coloring, as well as its history and legislation that continues to effect us today. Food dyes are in so many product. Many you wouldn’t even suspect. They offer us no nutritional value, no flavor, no texture, and no reason to include them in the product, beyond a tradition that dates back to the 19th century, to make food look appealing. Today we consumers have a need for our health’ sake, to educate ourselves and relearn what food is supposed to look like; and push food manufacturers to stop using dyes. Most companies already have dye free options of all their products, which are sold outside the US. So how hard is it to simply sell them in the US as well? Our leaders and government entities such as the FDA need to get out of the mentality that potentially harmful is ok so long as it isn’t proven harmful. Why should we allow for potentially at all? In the case of food dye’s, there is zero reason to allow it. And in any case, why should the burden of proof be put on the consumer, as it has been with dyes? Simply, it never should have gotten here.

Video resume for medicine programme | UPM | 2021 | first phase

Diabetes No Comments »

Hey there! The video that you watched just now / watching right now is a video that I have to make in order to get into the second phase which is the online interview. confused? don’t worry, let me explain.
After receiving the offer letter for UPM medicine programme, I was informed, there are two phases of judgements that will be made to select the students for their medicine programme. In the first phase I was required to write an essay and submit it within a day (24 hours) -15/6/2021 (to be precise) On the same day, I was given a title for the video that I have to make. (but I was given 7 days to do it) – 15/6/2021-21/6/2021. (which is the video that I uploaded on YouTube hehehe)
Based on the video and essay that we did, our names will be shortlisted to select the students that can attend the online interview (second phase). -30/6/2021 and 1/7/2021 (2 sessions).Don’t worry, If you’re selected, you only need to attend one of the interview sessions 😂
Coming back to the first phase, the title of the essay that was given to me :-
Your neighbour is a retired teacher aged 71 years old who lives with her son who has autism. She had an appointment to receive her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine last week ; however, she refused to be vaccinated. She believes that her son’s symptoms of autism were observed after he was vaccinated when he was young. She also advised her neighbourhood friends not to take the vaccine as reports were shown the vaccine may cause death. She believes that washing hands and wearing mask are sufficient to prevent from Covid-19 infection. As a future medical practitioner, identify the main issue and discuss critically about this issue.
The title of video that was given to me :-
A non-government organisation has come up with a strategy of setting up ‘baby hatches’ across the country where the mothers or others can drop off unwanted babies anonymously. What are your opinions on this practice?
If you have any questions regarding the essay writing / video making /online interview, don’t hesitate to email me :- kayalmanogarr@gmail.com
or
Dm me :- @kayal_manogar253
I can give you a clear explanation and further information regarding this. I can also share my own experience 🙂
Good luck if you need to attend any interviews in the future, you can do it, believe in yourself ❤
A BIG thanks to @theasika for helping me to edit this video❤❤❤

Hehe, and I would like to congrats those who managed to get into the first choice🎉
Even though I didn’t manage to get my first choice, I would say I was a bit disappointed at first, since UKM is my dream school. But after that, I started to accept it and am really happy that I managed to secure a place in medicine. And now I’m super looking forward to my uni life and ready for it.
Lastly, wish y’all the best in your future.
See ya 😛

Yum. The hamburger restaurant with a menu that boasts unhealthy foods. Fatty foods in large portions are bad for you. However in light of this, The Heart Attack Grill uses the potentially harmful nature of it’s food a selling point.

1 out of 3 Americans has prediabetes. Could continuous glucose monitors help? | Dr. Michael Snyder

Health No Comments »

Approximately one-third of the U.S. population has blood sugar levels in the prediabetic range, with the majority being unaware. Dr. Michael Snyder, recent guest of the podcast, maintains that closely tracking blood sugar levels, for example, with continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), can alert people when their levels reach prediabetic or diabetic ranges. Such knowledge can enable them to make crucial dietary and lifestyle modifications, including weight loss, exercise, and stress reduction, that can halt or reverse the progress to type 2 diabetes.

Continuous glucose monitors, or CGMs, are wearable devices that allow users to monitor their blood glucose levels through a tiny sensor placed under the skin. While they are a medical product, some consumer-oriented companies are making them available through a physician network, such as:

– January.ai* – https://january.ai/
– NutriSense.io – https://www.nutrisense.io/
– Levels Health – https://www.levelshealth.com/

The most common CGMs currently available, include DexCom and the FreeStyle Libre. More consumer-oriented CGMs are thought to be coming on the market soon:
